The PIKE House

November 2018

Gamma Rho - Northwestern

Gamma Rho Wins 1st House of the Quarter for 2018-19

Recently, Gamma Rho has made some major improvements including: replacement of the basement flooring, new hardwood floors in the hallways, installed Sonos speaker system throughout the house, and a repurposed portion of the basement for socializing. Some of the most enjoyed areas by the chapter are the conference room and communal space on the first floor, which facilitate meetings, studying, and providing recreation space for TV viewing, ping pong, and poker games. The Northwestern facilities management team is contracted for general repairs and daily cleaning. The housing committee performs weekly checks to ensure the house remains clean and in a good state of repair.

Gamma Rho’s adherence to the Fraternity’s recommended Operation and Condition Standards (OCS) enables them to effectively manage their house. Visit the link below to complete an assessment of how your chapter measures up to the operation and condition standards.

Checklist

Achieve all the Operation and Condition Standards

Delegates of the 2000 Convention passed a resolution adopting a set of Operation & Condition Standards for chapter housing. These minimum standards act as a guide for those chapters desirous of projecting a positive image within the community and making the most of their facility’s living conditions. water damage

Prepare for Winter Break

When water freezes it expands. Therefore, if water in pipes is allowed to freeze, the pipes will burst. When the water thaws, the result is massive leakage and severe damage to the house. Property loss from frozen pipes is common. However, it can be avoided.

Attention to details during the winter season will prevent damage, theft and vandalism from spoiling your chapter's winter holidays. For a comprehensive checklist of information to help secure your house for winter break, visit the link below:
