LOGAN, UTAH - October is Domestic Violence Awareness month, and Pi Kappa Alpha at Utah State University is showing support for the men and women who have been impacted by it. This month, the chapter will have a banner on display showing support for the survivors of domestic violence. The chapter is also supporting Alpha Chi Omega’s philanthropy week benefiting domestic violence awareness.

Domestic violence is an important topic that deserves serious attention from students across the nation. Gamma Epsilon Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha believes it can help spark conversations with the banner on their house, supporting Alpha Chi Omega’s philanthropy week, and partnering with the university’s office of Sexual Assault and Anti-Violence Information to increase members’ understanding about healthy relationships. Discussions include topics such as consent, healthy masculinity, and being an upstander.

The men of Pi Kappa Alpha believe it is time for change to be made on Utah State University’s campus. They are taking the action to not only spread awareness but to also show support.

“We are hoping to spark awareness throughout the campus to ignite all organizations, fraternities, and athletic programs at Utah State to help spread awareness, support, and to ultimately create a safer campus environment for our Aggie family,” said External Vice President Hayden Vossler ’16.
