Theta Omicron and Iota Delta Host 9th Annual Firetruck Pull

Theta Omicron Chapter at Indiana State University and Iota Delta Chapter at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology join forces for charity event.

PIKE CEO takes a turn at pulling a firetruck during the 9th annual Firetruck Pull event for charity hosted by Theta Omicron and Iota Delta Chapters.

TERRE HAUTE, IN - On Saturday, April 23, Theta Omicron Chapter at Indiana State University in conjunction with Iota Delta at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology held their 9th Annual Firetruck Pull. Event proceed benefit the Special Olympics of Indiana. Numerous teams participated in the event including many fraternities, sororities, and other community organizations. Throughout the day, everyone enjoyed music, games, and free food in support of a great cause. Congratulations to the Rose-Hulman Phi Gamma Delta (FIJI) Chapter for winning the Men’s division, the Panhellenic Association at Indiana State for winning the Women’s Division, and Care Ambulance for winning the Co-ed Division! By working together, the PIKE chapters combined to raise over $10,590 with a final fundraising activity scheduled for Wednesday, April 27th.

PIKE CEO Visit. The Chapters welcomed Justin Buck, the CEO and Executive Vice President of The Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity during the annual Firetruck Pull. In addition to getting a chance to move a firetruck by sheer force, Buck also met with Theta Omicron’s faculty advisor, David Stowe; Iota Delta’s faculty advisor, Michael DeVasher; the President of Iota Delta, David Reamer; the Vice President of Assets for Iota Delta, Billy Scheid; the President-Elect of Theta Omicron Ben Weber, and Vice President of Membership for Theta Omicron, Tyler Bouslog. During the visit, Buck received a tour of part one of Theta Omicron Chapter’s $1.9 million housing project, the beautiful grounds of Iota Delta Chapter at Rose-Hulman, and tours of both of the respective University’s campuses.

Combined Brotherhood Event. Following the successful Firetruck Pull, the men of PIKE from both Indiana State and Rose-Human held a combined brotherhood event. There were many competitive activities including football, volleyball, basketball, and other yard games. All of the men enjoyed strengthening the relationship and brotherhood between the two chapters. Plus, it is not often you get to play football with the CEO of your Fraternity.
