Posted on Oct 3, 2018
MEMPHIS, TN - Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity is pleased to announce Joshua Madere (Southeastern Louisiana, Mu Nu ’18) as the September 2018 Pike of the Month. Pike of the Month award recipients demonstrate the True Pike ideals, working to improve themselves and having a positive impact on their chapters, campuses, and communities.
Madere, a junior at Southeastern Louisiana University, was nominated for demonstrating superior leadership in his chapter, on campus, and in the community.
On campus, he serves as vice president of events for the college of business ambassadors, as a mentor in the college of business, and as treasurer of Phi Beta Lambda. Madere maintains a presence on the President’s List and received the Southeastern Green “S” Award, an award presented to only three percent of the university’s students. He was also spotlighted by the university’s college of business.
Over the summer, Madere assisted with recruiting new students to the university and into the college of business. He also helped create new events to encourage students to meet with the dean of the college of business, ensuring there is always an open line of communication.
Because he is highly involved within the college of business and well-known around campus, he was a major asset during recruitment. He also serves Mu Nu Chapter as sergeant-at-arms and campus involvement chair.
Madere will graduate with a degree in finance and plans to pursue a career as an investment banker.
