MEMPHIS, TN - Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity is pleased to announce Yousef Kosho (Wayne State, Delta Nu ’15) as the September 2017 Pike of the Month. Pike of the Month award recipients demonstrate the True Pike ideals, working to improve themselves and having a positive impact on their chapters, campuses, and communities.

Kosho, a junior at Wayne State University, was nominated for demonstrating superior leadership in his chapter, on campus, and in the community.

Kosho served as co-fundraising chair for Medical Brigades, a chapter of Global Brigades which is the world’s largest student-led global health and sustainable development organization. Global Medical Brigades develops sustainable health initiatives and provides relief where there is limited access to healthcare.

In addition, Kosho traveled to Honduras in August with the program. While there, he helped treat over 600 patients; shadowed doctors, dentists, and pharmacists; helped build a public bathroom and washroom for the community; and taught children about the importance of personal hygiene.

Kosho is also a member of Girl Up, an organization whose goal is to empower and educate women in Detroit. He previously served Delta Nu Chapter as secretary and is currently serving the chapter as vice president.

As a biochemical and chemical biology major, Kosho aspires to go to medical school to become a forensic pathologist and eventually work for the FBI in their pathology department.
