MEMPHIS, TN - Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity is pleased to announce Austin Rogers (Southeastern Louisiana, Mu Nu ’15) as the June 2016 Pike of the Month. Pike of the Month award recipients demonstrate the True Pike ideals, working to improve themselves and have a positive impact on their chapters, campuses, and communities.

Rogers, a junior at Southeastern Louisiana University, was nominated by fellow founding father Neil Bourgeois (Southeastern Louisiana, Mu Nu ’15) for his character, his dedication to the Fraternity, and his leadership skills.

As a founding father of Mu Nu Chapter, Rogers has successfully balanced fraternity life with academics, volunteer work, and campus leadership positions. Within the chapter, Rogers served as special events chair, public relations chair, and treasurer. Through his leadership, the chapter’s financial status has improved, and the chapter now owns its own Ritual equipment.

Rogers has maintained a 3.0 GPA majoring in both marketing and management, earning him a place on the Dean’s List, President’s List, and Honor Roll for GPA. He also received the Green “S” Award, given to students who show outstanding commitment to leadership, academics, and what it means to be a Southeastern Lion.

Outside of the classroom, Rogers was an orientation leader, the Division of Student Affairs Leadership Ambassador, a Student Government Association Justice, and a member of the student government president’s cabinet. After completing his bachelor’s degree, Rogers wants to go to graduate school with the intentions of opening his own restaurant.

The Pike of the Month is selected from over 17,000 undergraduates and highlights members nominated by their brothers for living the ideals of the True Pike.
