John Michael Lanham (Texas Tech, Epsilon Gamma '14) October 2017 Pike of the Month

MEMPHIS, TN - Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity is pleased to announce John Michael Lanham (Texas Tech, Epsilon Gamma ’14) as the October 2017 Pike of the Month. Pike of the Month award recipients demonstrate the True Pike ideals, working to improve themselves and having a positive impact on their chapters, campuses, and communities.

A senior at Texas Tech University, Lanham was nominated for demonstrating superior leadership in his chapter, on campus, and in the community.

Lanham is a regular participant in Adopt-A-Highway cleanups and has written legislation through the Student Government Association to better the academic experience of the engineering college. He is also member of the Tech Marketing Association, a chairman on the Interfraternity Council Judicial Board, and a SGA senator for the College of Engineering.

Raising $4,000 during mother’s weekend, Lanham helped to supplement costs of buying appliances for the chapter’s kitchen. He also stepped up to serve and shape the executive board while the chapter was in a fragile state.

Additionally, Lanham served his chapter as the treasurer of his new member class, Greek relations chair, alumni relations chair, continuing education chair, through the housing committee, internal vice president, and currently serves as chapter president.

As a mechanical engineering major, Lanham hopes to pursue a career in aeronautics or design engineering while getting a master’s degree in business administration.
