MARCH 2017 PIKE OF THE MONTH

March 2017 Pike of the Month

Blake Miller (Toledo, Epsilon Epsilon ’14) - March 2017 Pike of the Month

MEMPHIS, TN - Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity is pleased to announce Blake Miller (Toledo, Epsilon Epsilon ’14) as the March 2017 Pike of the Month. Pike of the Month award recipients demonstrate the True Pike ideals, working to improve themselves and having a positive impact on their chapters, campuses, and communities.

Miller, a senior at the University of Toledo, was nominated for his leadership skills in the chapter, on the campus and in the community.

As the first solo recruitment chairman since 2011, Miller committed himself to seeking out a new member class of elite men. His fall 2016 new member class consisted of 45 men with an incoming GPA of 3.51. Throughout his college career, Miller’s passion to mold better men didn’t end with new members. During the same semester, Miller worked directly with former political correspondent, Michael Hericks (Toledo, Epsilon Epsilon ’13) to ensure that every business and engineering major within the chapter had a professional resume and the necessary skills needed to pursue a career in that field. Under Miller’s leadership, 39 members seeking an engineering degree received internships or full-time offers.

In addition to serving the chapter, Miller has volunteered as an orientation guide for the university for three years and served his student government as judicial council chairman from 2014-2015. Miller was also a member of Pi Sigma Epsilon, a marketing and sales fraternity, where he has served on the executive board at the chapter level as the community service director.

Miller is a recipient of the university’s Student Scholar Achievement Award, Tiffin University President’s Scholarship Award, and the Pi Kappa Alpha Alumni Scholarship.

In preparation for his professional career, Miller competed in the Second Annual Sales Competition for Quicken Loans in 2016 where he was selected as one of 25 students from 12 universities that were invited to the Quicken Loans Sales Workshop.

Miller has maintained a 3.38 GPA while majoring in professional sales and supply chain management. He will begin his career in sales at Goodyear this July as the first employee in the entire country to be hired onto the Goodyear Consumer Sales Squad.

Nominate a deserving brother for Pike of the Month.
