July 2018 Pike of the Month

Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity is pleased to announce Josh Dolsen (University of Mississippi, Gamma Iota ’17) as the July 2018 Pike of the Month. Pike of the Month award recipients demonstrate the True Pike ideals, working to improve themselves and having a positive impact on their chapters, campuses, and communities.
Dolsen, a sophomore at University of Mississippi, was nominated for demonstrating superior leadership in his chapter, on campus, and in the community.
On campus, he serves as an Ole Miss ambassador, on The Wells Project executive committee as Greek Coordinator, assistant director of the University food bank, the BIG Event logistics and and volunteer committee, Interfraternity Council Delegate, and a member of AMSA and MEDlife, which urges citizens and politicians to make a difference in the world of medicine.
Dolsen maintains a presence on the Dean’s List, Chancellor’s List and is a member of Gamma Phi Beta Honor Society, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and Golden Key Honour Society.
Outside of the classroom, Dolsen volunteers with the Ole Miss Food Bank, BIG Event which is the biggest day for community service on campus, the Wells Project that raises money for third world countries to have clean water, and has 250 hours of clinical volunteering at Winchester Medical Center.
Dolsen has served his chapter as campus involvement chairman, rush subcommittee member, and is currently internal vice president.
He will be graduating with a bachelor of science with a major in biology and minors in neuroscience, psychology, and chemistry. Dolsen plans to attend medical school to obtain a career in neurosurgery, plastic surgery, or emergency medicine.
