Jon A. Reesman selected as 2018 Robertson Most Outstanding Undergraduate

Jon A. Reesman, 2018 Robertson Most Outstanding Undergradute Award Recipient

At the 2018 International Convention, Jon A. Reesman, Jr., (Tennessee, Zeta ’18) was recognized with the Robertson Most Outstanding Undergraduate Award. The Robertson Award honors Pi Kappa Alpha’s outstanding graduating senior. Pi Kappa Alpha first recognized its outstanding graduating senior in 1926 with an award administered by the alumni chapter of Buffalo, New York, and the award’s first recipient was Howard Bell Arbuckle Jr. (Davidson, Beta ’25).

Reesman completed four years in the Army Reserve Officer’s Training Corps, Rocky Top Battalion, and twice received the Superior Cadet Award recognizing outstanding academic and extracurricular accomplishment. He served as the operations officer and was responsible for coordinating all training events for the ROTC programs at both the Knoxville and Chattanooga campuses. In 2016, he participated in the 148-mile “Vols Run to Bristol” to deliver the game ball to Bristol Motor Speedway prior to the Tennessee Volunteers vs. Virginia Tech Hokies football game.

Fraternally, Reesman served Zeta Chapter, then a colony, as its first president. His goal was simple – to lead the colony through a swift and successful reorganization; to which he succeeded when Zeta Chapter received its charter in March 2018 with 131 members. The university’s Interfraternity Council (IFC) recognized him with its President’s Choice Award.

Following his term as colony president, Reesman was appointed IFC vice president of health & safety, a newly created position on the executive board. During his tenure, he worked tirelessly with IFC members, chapter presidents, and university faculty and administrators to pass new health and safety guidelines for tailgating activities at the University of Tennessee.

Reesman is an Eagle Scout and a member of the Order of Omega Honor Society. He will graduate from Tennessee with highest academic honors and as a Distinguished Military Graduate. After graduation, he will be commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Army.

The Pi Kappa Alpha Foundation is proud to honor Jon A. Reesman with the 2018 Robertson Most Outstanding Undergraduate Award.
