MEMPHIS, TN - The Pi Kappa Alpha Foundation Finance & Grants Committee has named Alexander R. Pacelli (Southwestern, Alpha Omicron ’07) the 2016 recipient of the Simon A. Simon Memorial Scholarship. Brother Pacelli will receive a tuition scholarship in the amount of $1,100.
The Simon A. Simon Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to a member of Pi Kappa Alpha enrolled in theological seminary. The scholarship honors the memory of former Inter/National Chaplain Reverend Simon A. Simon (Nebraska-Omaha, Delta Chi ’54).
Brother Pacelli graduated from Southwestern University in 2010 and is currently a graduate student at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. While at Southwestern, Alexander served the Alpha Omicron Chapter as recruitment chairman and president.
“From the time I first entered the PIKE House at Southwestern as a freshman, to my graduation in 2010, Pike was the greatest formative experience of my undergraduate studies,” Pacelli said. “There are concepts in education that simply cannot be taught in a lecture hall, and Pi Kappa Alpha equipped me with these concepts.”
Pacelli is pursuing a Master of Divinity professional degree with the intentions of becoming an ordained parish priest of the Roman Catholic faith. For questions about the Simon A.
