Nigel Walker selected as October 2016 Pike of the Month

MEMPHIS, TN - Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity is pleased to announce Nigel D. Walker (Vanderbilt, Sigma ’16) as the October 2016 Pike of the Month. Pike of the Month award recipients demonstrate the True Pike ideals, working to improve themselves and have a positive impact on their chapters, campuses, and communities.
Walker, a senior at Vanderbilt University, was nominated for his leadership skills, dedication to the Fraternity, and his commitment to personal success. As an engineering science major, he has completed four different internships including positions with both The Coca-Cola Company and Bridgestone Americas while balancing Fraternity life, campus involvement, and athletics.
A founding father of Sigma Chapter and the chapter’s first president, Walker organized a $36,000 budget while reducing expenses by 33 percent and growing chapter membership to 91 men. Additionally, Walker documented the chapter’s 140-page petition to charter, including by-laws, election protocol, and the president’s manual for future leaders.
Walker also serves the Vanderbilt School of Engineering as council president and the Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity as corporate sponsorship chair. Previously, Walker was a wide-receiver on the university’s football team.
Walker is an Eagle Scout and has maintained a 3.22, earning him a place on the Dean’s List
