Indiana State Alumnus Receives Chapter Advisor of the Year

MEMPHIS, TN - The Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity awarded the Chapter Advisor of the Year Award to David Stowe (Indiana State, Theta Omicron ’79) at the 2016 International Convention in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Chapter Advisor of the Year Award is presented annually to one Fraternity volunteer who has been nominated by his peers as the top advisor to a collegiate chapter.
As chapter advisor, Stowe serves as a direct resource to the chapter president and mentor to chapter members. He maintains communication with other volunteers and the International Fraternity. For the past decade, Stowe has attended two executive board meetings and one chapter meeting a week, providing constant mentorship to the chapter and helped them improve themselves through the Fraternity experience.
Stowe, along with Ed Pease (Indiana-Bloomington, Delta Xi ’71), has managed the establishment of the chapter’s new housing complex, while also working with the housing corporation and the capital campaign, investing countless hours and dollars into providing Theta Omicron with cutting edge Fraternity housing.
“When David took over in 2006, the chapter mirrored the stereotypical fraternity that we didn’t want to become,” said Vice President of Membership Tyler Bouslog (Indiana State, Theta Omicron ’14). “With his support, we regained our true mission and vision. The chapter has started to see the impact of living by our mission, and he has been an inspiration and motivator, helping us reach our potential.”
The Pi Kappa Alpha International Fraternity is proud to honor Brother Stowe with the 2016 Chapter Advisor of the Year Award.
